The Sound, Vibration and Materials Research Group at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering in collaboration with the University of Eiffel (France) in the Department of Matériaux et Structures is offering a programme for full-time South African students, based at TUT, studying towards the Masters qualification in Mechanical Engineering from 2nd semester 2025. The project will entail FEA and Experimental validation.
Benefits and Requirements:
A 5 month collaborative study opportunity at the University of Eiffel in France inclusive of Air Ticket, Accommodation and Living Allowance (around 750 Euros/month) will funded by this program and additional funds to assist with project costs subject to selection and approval for the programme by the funder.
Requirements: A minimum of 65% average mark in final year BTech/BEng/Bridging/Honours level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering including a pass in final year engineering subjects: Stress Analysis IV or Finite Element Modelling and Mechanics IV (Vibration), Strength of Materials II and Dynamics or equivalent. Full-time South African students are invited to apply. Students must be in possession of a South African Passport that is valid for at least 1 year. Students must be ready to travel, be hard working, committed, have the ability to critically solve problems, work independently with excellent English writing and oral skills and not be employed, even on a part-time basis.

The TUT PLACEMENT PORTAL is a comprehensive Online Management and Tracking System for the Management of the placement of Students and Graduates of the Tshwane University of Technology. The TUT Placement Portal monitors and tracks every registered TUT Student and Graduate placement to ensure no one is stranded.
Students and Graduates would have access via the Portal and the App to all available Placement and Training opportunities sourced by the University. Students will also have access to SETA and other funding opportunities for training
Employers can directly post Job Adverts on the Placement Portal and receive CVs of TUT Students and Graduates. The University Placement Administrators select the suitably qualified students and graduates who had met the criteria of the Advertised Post and share their CVs with Employer.
Employers can also download the TUT Placement Android App to post Job Advertisements, monitor the recruitment progress, and engage with the TUT Administrators
All TUT Placement students and graduates must first register on the TUT Placement Portal to obtain their Username and Password.
All Students and Graduates must complete the Abridged CV 100% using the Portal CV Builder. The Abridged CV is a summarized version of the detailed personal CV of the Student or Graduate. The Abridged CV is presented in an easy-to-read standard format to assist Employers in their decision-making process. The Abridged CVs are attached to all online applications for advertised posts.
